John Kaye & John Huldt are the creative team behind The Overlords melodic Hard Rock originals.
John Kaye is the singer/songwriter of the duo. Born on “National Marijuana Day” John neither does drugs, drink, or smoke. Originally born in Chicago to a musical family, the “Bug” was deeply seated in his blood.

John was inducted into the “Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame” in 2011 in Las Vegas, Voted “Best R&B Soul Artist Of The Year” in the 6th Annual South Bay Music Awards in SoCal, invited contender for “The Voice!” in 2013 and “X-Factor” in 2014, nominee for “Best Tribute Band Of The Year” 2015 for John Kaye & Steppenwolf Tribute “Psychedelic Review” in SoCal. Played as an Acoustic Soloist extensively thoughout So Cal. for 2015 while writing/recording demos for his debut release.
His Father, Aunt, and Uncle, started the Las Vegas Lounge Scene and are the highest paid lounge act in Las Vegas Casino History. His Aunt, Mary Kaye is the namesake of the Fender Guitar named the Mary Kaye Stratocaster. She is also known as the “First Lady Of Rock & Roll” as mentioned on the Fender Guitar Company website

John Huldt is the arranger, producer, lead guitarist and Music Director for The Overlords. John’s talent and ability are evident on every track on “Terminal Heat” John has taught the advanced rock classes at the LA Music Academy for which he also wrote the curriculum.
John Huldt has called Los Angeles home since 2006 is an award winning guitar player, originally from Sweden. He has become known as one of the most versatile guitarists among his peers and has been receiving accolades from many of the industry’s top names.
He has released two solo albums, the 2008 release “Rules Do Not Apply” and in 2012, “A Permanent State Of Transformation” both to much critical acclaim. Whereas “Rules” was more a straight up guitar record, “Permanent State” focused heavily on orchestration and composition.
He often gets hired to make demos, videos and clinics for various manufacturers in the music industry. You can also find him at the larger trade shows like NAMM and LA Amp show, demoing and doing clinics, panels, etc.
John has won several talent competitions and most notably was one of the top 6 finalists in Lee Ritenours 6 string theory competition in 2011 and was awarded “Guitar player of the year” in the 2012 South Bay Music Awards.
