Champagne Charlies also known as Webby, Coady and Woody are an indie/rock trio from Newcastle Upon Tyne formed back in 2005.
With their catchy riffs, intelligent lyrics and memorable melodies the Charlies “can turn any stage in to a party and are often compared to a “Geordie Arctic Monkeys with a kick”.
Champagne Charlies are no strangers to the music venues of the ‘Toon’ having headlined The Cluny, Head Of Steam and o2 Academy Newcastle as some of their many gigs in the region in their 10 years, the Charlies where also on the bill for the first ever full electric set at Surf Cafè Tynemouth one of the top small venues in the area. Since signing to management with FrontStep Music Champagne Charlies have also been down to London where they made a big impression at all 3 consecutive dates at the iconic Dublin Castle, The Cavendish Arms and Fiddlers Elbow just in time for James Bay releasing his new single that was recorded at the venue.
The Charlies have supported indie rockers The Sherlocks, Jim Valentine and indie punk rockers Twisted Wheel.

Champagne Charlies take their inspiration from early new wave bands such as The Jam, Elvis Costello and The Clash with a hint of noughts attitude from the sounds of The Libertines and The Strokes.
Following the release of their EP ‘Experience Required’ December 2014 the track ‘Got myself to blame’ received support with airplay from BBC Introducing Newcastle and local online stations.
